The Factor LANDO XC is a lightweight full 29er that cranks its way to the front of the starting line with race-oriented geometry and suspension that work together. Fast and fun, it's the perfect mountain bike for Cape Epic wannabes, gravel crossovers and roadies who want to get dirty. The choice to design the LANDO XC with a vertical shock absorber offers enormous advantages in terms of both weight savings and stiffness: the impact forces can be concentrated in the region of the robust and already built bottom bracket, thus allowing a slim top tube that it does not require excessive stratification and carbon weight. The design also ensures that the shock absorber is completely isolated from any side loads, thus improving the shock life and sensitivity to small bumps by removing the attachment. Cyclists who take their XC training and racing seriously rely on having predictable suspension in any situation. It doesn't matter if you're pushing up a hill or a smooth trail, no one wants to deal with kickback or brake jack. That's why Factor designed a unique single pivot "dummy bar" linkage with 115mm rear travel based on a 45mm travel shock and 100mm based on a 40mm travel shock. The philosophy behind the kinematics keeps the anti-squat in the 90% range to ensure the suspension stays firm but active when you push the watts. The split seat tube of the LANDO XC is not only a reference to the Twin Vane EVO split down tube on road bikes, it also allows the use of monobox chainstays and reduced weight. Shared pins mounted directly into the frames offer a super stiff, well-aligned interface for the entire suspension to ride on. The one piece molded carbon rocker arm is extremely stiff, preventing any lateral load on the shock which greatly extends its life. The design also reduces static friction during use. The shared shock absorber and the widest possible mounted lower swingarm pivot ensure the simplest, lightest and most durable use of the available frame material. To give the system a clean, streamlined look, most of the fasteners are hidden or on the side opposite the drive. The design references similar mixed Factor designs found on our high-end road bikes. The 67 ° head tube angle, combined with the 120mm travel fork, allows you to settle in a rearward position to increase speed on technical terrain. The seat tube angle of 75.5 °, combined with the zero offset seat post, allows you to increase power thanks to the position of the knee above the pedal pivot. The long top tube coupled with the relatively short stem keeps the center of gravity above the rear of the bike for traction and control. Trail balanced rear center length ensures predictable handling. The LANDO was designed in unison with Black Inc components to complement ride quality and minimize weight. The one-piece stem, tow bolt seat post and hidden Go-Pro mount computer mount complete the suite of bespoke components.
