Fulcrum Red Zone Carbon Plus wheels, the world of "Plus": the latest frontier of Fulcrum technology for MTB wheels. Fulcrum's flagship product for XC and Marathon competition evolves thanks to feedback from top athletes: Red Zone Carbon+ is the result of specific analysis and testing aimed at taking Red Zone Carbon performance to the next level. A process that personally involved Team Buff-Megamo athletes, who together with other athletes for a year tested different configurations on race courses to find the perfect balance and the highest possible performance. The result came just before Cape Epic 2023: a wheel weighing 1.385 g, achieved by using a mix of resins and FF100 unidirectional high-modulus fibers made to Fulcrum specifications, which maintains and improves all the structural characteristics and implements all the best Fulcrum technologies. Handling and reactivity are significantly improved with Red Zone Carbon+, +9.5% and +10% respectively over Red Zone Carbon. The iconic and identifiable Red Zone Carbon NIP(PLE) FORCE rim shape remains unchanged and MoMag and DSRC technologies are inherited. The bearings are still of the cone-cup type, but they are enhanced with USB™ (Ceramic Ultra Smooth Bearings) ceramic ball bearings, which raise the wheels' smoothness level even higher and reduce weight and maintenance. Comparative tests have shown that USB™ bearings are 50% smoother than sealed bearings.
