When you are engaged in a difficult descent, the last thing you want to worry about is whether your helmet will protect you adequately. On the other hand, it's not feasible to wear a full-face helmet during all trail outings. That's why the Ambush with ANGi sensor was created - a lightweight helmet with extensive coverage.
The new ANGi sensor will put your mind at ease - when paired with the Android or iOS App, the sensor detects any falls and sends an SMS to the contacts you have selected on your phone. The sensor syncs with the App and STRAVA® to provide an activity track based on GPS.
Together with the creators of MIPS, Specialized has developed MIPS SL - a new, ultra-lightweight, and extremely comfortable version of the MIPS concept, currently exclusive to Specialized helmets. MIPS SL essentially integrates MIPS technology into the padding of the helmet itself. The minimalist fastening system provides 10 to 15 mm of rotation in every direction, thus offering the same protective benefits as other MIPS systems, while also being very lightweight and comfortable.
The extensive coverage of the Ambush is made from expanded EPS material with differentiated density optimized to manage impacts, internally reinforced by an Aramid web (Matrix). Even with this increased protection, the profile is slim and comfortable. The Mindset 360 Fit positioning system offers five height positions, while the integrated adjustment allows for fine 'on-the-fly' tuning. The Ambush with our "4th Dimension Cooling" is also very well-ventilated thanks to the large air vents and exhausts, to prevent heat stroke on the hottest days. The visor with micro-adjustment includes housing for DH-style goggles.
